Draft version: 2026-09-draft1
Privacy Policy
YogEx is an early-stage product for independent yoga teachers and small studios in India. This page explains what we collect, why, and what rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
What we collect
For a teacher: your name, email and the business details you enter. For a teacher's clients: whatever the teacher enters about them — name, email, attendance, class bookings, and payment claims (a UPI reference number and, if attached, a screenshot). We never collect card or bank login details. When you start a chat with us we ask for your name and, if you choose to give them, your mobile number and email, so that we can reply to you after you leave the chat.
Why we collect it
Only to run the product you are using: showing your classes and attendance, tracking who owes what, issuing certificates, and running your public page. Nothing is collected for advertising.
How long we keep it
For as long as the account is active. A teacher can erase a client's data from inside the app; we keep only what the law requires us to keep for billing or dispute records, and delete the rest. The name, mobile number and email typed into the contact chat are removed 90 days after the chat ends.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run YogEx itself — hosting, database and file storage, and the WhatsApp service used to send messages a teacher asks to send. We do not sell data, and we do not share it for advertising.
Your rights under the DPDP Act
You can ask to see, correct, export or erase your data, and withdraw consent at any time. A teacher can already do this for their clients from inside the app; write to us through the support chat for anything else.
Grievance contact
Reach us through the support chat inside your YogEx dashboard — every message goes straight to the founder. YogEx is an early-stage product and has not yet appointed a formal Grievance Officer under the DPDP Act; this will be added before general availability.
We never hold your money
YogEx never holds or routes student money. A payment happens directly between a student and their teacher over UPI; YogEx only records that a payment was claimed or confirmed.
Changes to this policy
We may update this draft as the product and its legal review progress. The version note at the top of this page tells you which draft you are reading.
